ライブドアの堀江前社長の呼称について、今朝の朝日新聞天声人語で取り上げられていた。その中で、「ワシントンポストでは『IT業界の大君』と呼んでいた」というくだりがあった。

という記事がその出典だと思う。Japanese Authorities Arrest Internet Tycoon というタイトル。導入部は以下の通り。

Internet tycoon Takafumi Horie, the freewheeling young executive credited with helping reinvent Japan's staid corporate culture, was arrested Monday on suspicion of violating securities laws in one the biggest financial scandals to rock the world's second-largest economy in years.

さて、その tycoon という語だが、「大君」と訳すのはちょっとおかしいんじゃないか。もちろん大君（江戸時代の将軍）からきた語であることは間違いないんだけど、この場合 oil tycoon（石油王）なんかと同じように「（実業界の）大物」ぐらいの意味だろう。なぜか映画業界でよく使われる（そういう時期があった？）んだよね。
